Enhancing education through creative, innovative projects

For more than 18 years, the award-winning La Porte Education Foundation (LPEF) has served as a community catalyst for providing grants and scholarships that further innovative education. LPEF makes the visions of La Porte ISD teachers a reality by funding their creativity, pioneering spirit and fervent resolve to make their teaching processes the best they can be. LPEF is a non-profit organization and holds 501(c)3 status.

In LPEF’s first year, 13 grants were given to educators. In 2011, 94 grants worth more than $70,000 were awarded to teachers, giving these educators a greater ability to help their students soar as they reach for academic excellence. A 2008 grant funded the groundbreaking Global Studies Exchange Program which brought Chinese and La Porte students together in education and friendship.
