The waters of Sylvan Beach were visited by a new and unusual flock as thousands of yellow rubber ducks competed in the first DuPont Rubber Duck Regatta benefitting the La Porte Education Foundation from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6.
The adopted ducks put on quite a race! The winning duck's adopted owner, Andrea Gamblin, won the grand prize of$5,000 sponsored by DuPont. Others who ducks won their "adopter" a prize include:

While the regatta was the highlight of the day, this family-oriented event also included a Fun Family Fair which will feature booths from La Porte ISD schools and community groups, activities, games, foods and lots of prizes!
All of the net profits from this event go toward the La Porte Education Foundation's goal of providing grants for innovative teaching in La Porte ISD schools.
