LPEF is committed to good governance!
The not-for-profit La Porte Education Foundation is committed to good governance, including providing effective and efficient services to La Porte ISD schools, being accountable to the community, and adhering to ethical and professional standards.
LPEF is governed by a board of directors consisting of leaders from the local community, businesses and industrial partners. The board of directors is responsible for developing plans to meet LPEF's mission and reviewing its mission to ensure it meets the needs of the La Porte community. The board is responsible for ensuring that funds raised in the community are used in a manner consistent with the mission of the foundation.
The board of directors has established audit procedures to ensure the mission of the Foundation is met, including safekeeping and proper use of contributions. Examples of these include annual financial audits, term limits for officers, and diverse board membership and involvement in decision making. The foundation is administrated through a set of bylaws.
